In the late 19th century, Fred Pearson created a business empire
that included engineering and electrification projects in the United
States, Brazil, Mexico, Canada, and Spain.
He was responsible for installing both the electric street railway systems
in Boston and New York, and electricity in such major cities as Barcelona
and Rio De Janeiro.
And where did he get his start? Medford!.
Join engineering historian Gil Cooke for a look at the life and
accomplishments of this important 19th century figure.
Gil Cooke is a historian who writes and lectures on many aspect of
the history of electrical engineering.
His lecture on Pearson has been presented at the Lowell
National Historical Park.
This program is free and open to everyone.
